Great app, very useful! I have been looking for something like this for a while, but the only thing that I would like to see is an option to give answers in exact values. For example rather than saying sin(pi/4)=0.0707107, it would say sin(pi/4)=sqrt(2)/2

This app has been abandoned by its developer. Features are missing, such as long equations not wrapping to fit the window width, absence of horizontal scrolling, and there is no support for retina display whatsoever. Disappointing.

This is an amazing piece of software for $0.99. My $100 calculator cant do most of this stuff.

This is a new version of a piece of software that I first encountered on the Mac well over 25 years ago. It was amazing then and it is amazing now. Equation Calculator is really a Math Processor that understands math syntax and mathematical rules. There is nothing else like it.

How on earth did I get through all those math courses without this? A steal at 99¢.

Doesnt everyones brain think math the way we write it, rather than the way calculators force us to rearrange? Equation Calculator lets you perform calculations the way you think them! It is an awesome tool at a great price. Dont hesitate to buy this!

This application cant solve for a variable when it is on both side of the equation (such as X+2=3X). This is a serious flaw in the application, one that renders it pretty useless for me.

Quick and easy to use! Im majoring engineering, and this really helps!

Would be nice if it could add, subtract, multiply, and divide polynomials.

Really Helpful for Algebra

This program only has a few operations it can perform. There is very little help availible, whick is necessary to learn the commands. My calculator actually does work better.

Doesnt solve for variables. I wish you had the choice to pick which variable you want to solve for but this app doesnt support that and is like every other calculator app.

The inclusion of text comments makes this app an easy recommendation for anyone needing a quick and easy to use computer algebraic system.

Not to say that this is a bad app, but for doing the usual calculations a calculator is much faster. As for doing derivatives, its easier to just use Wolfram Alpha on the internet, which both solves complex derivatives and such and shows you how it did so, or, for exact values, just use the "calc" option on a graphing calculator. The matrices option is nice, but I doubt many people use that often. Overall ok. Far better than the dashboard calculator.

This is a good app, I used to use Mathcad on Window, but when I switch to Mac, I find here really can not find any samiler software like Mathcad. However, I found this one. Easy to use and clearly and friendly UI design. I can say, this software worth $10!!! But, here still something could improve, hope developer could improve this. the output file is not vector PDF file, only the text part is vector file, but variable part are not. Most of time, I need vector PDF file for latex, that maybe better if output file could be a vector file. I think our team could improve more. However, back to what I said, this is a good app. Worth to buy it !!!

Havent had this app long but this app rocks so far!

Id like to thank the developers of this app for making it possible for me to just BRAINSTORM in math symbolically. I LOVE THIS! I type an equation, the blank-slate environment just evaluates the math automatically as I type. The equations show up as ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL standard symbolic math as youd see in a LaTex editor, but theres one HUGE difference, THIS MATH IS ALIVE! I design software for a living and I begrudingly live with the single-line (think ANSI text based equations) math evaluation ala excel etc which is also how I write algorithms in code but Iv dreamt of breaking free from those mundane forms and roaming freely in the liberating symbolic notation of math. I can finally just throw equations up onto the blank surface and they evaluate, its allowed me to think much more deeply about my algorithmic explorations than ever before! Thank you! Thank you a thousand times! The $9.99 was chump change compared to the brainstorming potential opened up by this application!

This calculator is great since I dont always have one with me. Its simple and easy to use. The only problem is that every time I try and quit, the application freezes and I end up having to force quit. Its a bit of a pain. I cant save my work calculations or anything. Its current in terms of updates. I dont know if Im the only one that has this problem though.

I am engineering student and have used this primarily for the calculations for my homework for 3 and 1/2 years now. It has been fantastic never had any problems. Copying and pasting previously typed equations is a nice feature as well as the derivatives and integrals. Matrices a big plus. Besides the graphing feature my TI-84 has (which I have to use in class unfortunately), this calculator is the best. The logic even works nicely for using variables. At least 5 people have purchased from how easily they see me using it.

Maybe it’s me but I couldn’t get it to even solve a simple equation…..-5(y+6)+3y=12… The help section was worthless to me…didn’t even show how to just write a simple equation and solve….either that or the app wasn’t working…I tried calculate, simplify, isolate term etc…nothing happened…I tried entering the equation in quotaions marks etc…read thru all the directions…nothing!!! just wasted an hour I could have been studying…and $10 …I think there should be a way to get a refund on bogus apps…I’ve found that calculators are much more dificult to understand than math itself…lol And it seems like there’s no common or universal ways to use them…now if the author of this app would like to respond and give me a simple set of instructions to solve a simple equation…I would be all ears…I’m also using a brand spanking new MAC so maybe this app isn’t updated to run with the latest OS…who knows?! Nothing can be simple
